Dark Skies research - Noctalgia

As part of Northumberland National Park’s commisison for ‘Noctalgia’ I worked with North East Sight Matters, Deaf Awareness North East and Zigzag as well as volunteers and staff working within Northumberland National Park. Over several sessions we unpacked ideas of ecology whilst playing with light and shadow, building connetic sculpture, exploring sound and touch. These sessions were vital in helping me ground the work in multiple voices and the rich ideas, thoughts and artworks of the participants' aswell as their experiences of the night sky influenced the final work. The exhibitionalso included a chance for visitors to make their own Dark Skies Moth and to leave thoughts of their own experiences and wishes for the night sky.
