Quiet Space
_

Seaton Deleval Hall, Northumberland, 2025

A large scale mobile created for Seaton Delaval Hall’s new Quiet Space. Using the National Trust’s oak emblem as a starting point, as well as historic chandeliers within the Hall’s collection to create a giant kenetic sculpture with paper, brass and perspex.

The new Quiet Space was created by Plyable Design as a dedicated multi-use space for visitors to rest and relax during their visit. Designed with neurodiverse visitors in mind, the East Wing pavilion has been converted and now houses a selection of different soft seating options, reflective sensory installations, and a borrow-store library of sensory equipment and fidget toys.

The paper mobile brings the natural world indoors, the colours and slow movement of the mobile a focus point for those who may want gentle stimulus whilst using the space.
